The Arbitration Council, appointed by the FPF (president Luciano Gonçalves, a Sporting supporter), led and controlled by Benfica and Sporting's henchmen, has a decisive influence on the performance of Portuguese referees; with the centralist (Lisbon-based) sports media supporting a corrupt system in which the rules are not equal for all teams, favoring Benfica and Sporting, while FC Porto is always treated by the referees as a small team in order to please those who appoint the Arbitration Council, appointed by the FPF.
Referees always earn money when appointed, while if they are not appointed, they do not earn money; hence the need for referees to please those who appoint them (the bosses).
The normal, habitual behavior of the referees, OBSERVATION: extremely rigorous (microscopic) in detecting fouls against Porto players and scandalously permissive (giving rough treatment) in favor of the Dragons' opponents, hence the existing maxim, created by the Dragons: "the need to always fight against everything and everyone".
